    Default Algeria shuts down Facebook

Internet providers were shut down and Facebook accounts deleted across Algeria as thousands of pro-democracy demonstrators were arrested in street demonstrations. This needs to get more attention. Spread the world internet!

Why do governments think they can control their people and think they can just "shut down the internet"? There are many other ways to get online and spread the news of what is happening in their country. Fight the power!

Since when do governments have back-door access to delete facebook accounts?

Shutting down the Internet and deleting Facebook accounts is not going to work to stop a revolution. Just look at Egypt.
